🏖️ Beach 🚢 Pier 🐾 Wildlife 🌴 Tropics 🏖️ OceanTurquoise waves lapping the sparkling white sands along the shores of Panama City Beach create the perfect summer scene. From spring through fall, this tiny city in the Florida Panhandle is transformed into a veritable American beach town.
Panama City Beach is the heart of the Florida city and is loved by locals and tourists of all ages, who come here to swim, play, relax, socialize and sunbathe. Twenty-seven miles of brilliant white sand stretch along this part of the Gulf of Mexico at Panama City Beach, and the shallows are unbelievably inviting in the summer heat. One of the main landmarks along the waterfront is the City Pier, where much of the hottest beach scene is central, with games of beach volleyball and young people hanging out and socializing. Beside the beach, there are so much fun to do with your beloved family, from a play area for the kids to a place to relax for the elderly.
Across the street from the wooden pier is Pier Park, with shops and restaurants, commonly known as City Pier, which is a shopping, dining and entertainment complex, with a tourist-oriented orientation. It's a fun place to shop and go for lunch or dinner, with some restaurants having outdoor patios. If you're looking for a break after a long walk along the Panama city beach, Pier Park is a convenient and pleasant idea. Shopping options range from beach-themed apparel stores to department stores and high-end chain. This could be a good place to take a lunch or a short break.
When you come to Panama City Beach, don't miss Gulf World Marine Park located on the front road. This is one of Panama City's fun family attractions, with a wide variety of marine life and daily shows featuring dolphins, sea lions, a variety of birds, and more. Hands-on experiences include a stingray pool and interactive programs that involve swimming with dolphins or joining a Dolphin Camp. The park is open seasonally and closes between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Or an outing to Coconut Creek Family Theme Park is a great off-beach option for families visiting with kids. The park has mini golf, with two 18-hole courses, and a large outdoor maze for kids to burn off some energy.
To add a little fun and excitement to your stay, a boat tour is a great way to explore these waters. Sightseeing tours range from Sea Island snorkeling and dolphin watching tours, to canoeing, kayaking, and surfboard rentals. For families, Dragon Sea Cruise is a kid-themed pirate ship with two-hour sailings and kids' onboard activities. But many of these are season-specific and not offered during the low season. On a hot summer day, the shipwreck island water park is a welcome treat, with a lazy river, raging river, and wave pool, as well as all sorts of waters and waterslides. Skull Island has a family pool with a slide, slide, and a large bucket, while Tadpole Hole is a kids' pool with activities for the little ones. Shipwreck Island has been in the business here for decades and is a great family outing, designed to satisfy kids of all ages.
